1) A simpler and more transparent proof is given for earlier results by B. Bollobas and J. Jin about the partitions of an interval of integers into two parts, related to a Ramsey-type problem of Erdos. 2) A new construction allows us to improve some of their results for the problem of Erdos in the more general case of partitions into an arbitrary number of parts.
