Ce travail pose les fondements conceptuels et théoriques de la modélisation des préférences imprécises. A partir du constat de non ponctualité des seuils de préférence, il pose le principe du pouvoir discriminant imprécis. Il en résulte que 1'outils relationnel de modélisation est composite, ce qui permet de généraliser le principe de comparabilité limitée et d* introduire de nouveaux concepts adaptés à ce cadre théorique.
