Courbes lisses sur les surfaces rationnelles génériques : un lemme d'Horace géométrique

We prove a lemma to study the irreducibility and the smoothness (away from the prescribed singularities) of the generic plane curve of degree d passing through r generic points with prescribed multiplicities m 1 , ... , m r . This result rests on the "Horace's method", introduced by A. Hirschowitz. It is applied here to study the curves of genus at most 4 .
