When n individuals choose a standard according to ‘local rules' depending on their position on a set S = {1, 2, . . . , n}, there is a spatial coordination occurring between these choices. On the other hand, in other situations there is no such spatial coordination. We study here some models with or without spatial coordination and present tests for the absence of spatial coordination.
