We investigate the convergence and the rate of convergence in $| | \cdot | L_{p} | |$ , 1 < p < ∞, of a bivariate interpolating (with respect to a sparse grid) trigonometric polynomial in the framework of Sobolev spaces of dominating mixed smoothness.
