Liouville’s theorem on a transcendental equation $\log Y=Y/X$

The purpose of this note is to give an algebraic proof to Liouville's theorem that any solution of a transcendental equation $\log y = y/x$ is not an elementary transcendental function of $x$ ([5, pp.526-531]).
