Si costruiscono compattificazioni di uno spazio X usando certe sottigliezze di funzioni su X (le cosiddette algebre di stone complete) che sono valutate in un campo completo separato uniforme k. In tal modo si generalizzano le compattificazioni introdotte da altri autori.
