Neo-Darwinists often argue thus: 1) If the formation of genes is a chance-phenomenon, then inevitably the formation of the body is a chance-phenomenon too. 2) In fact, the formation of genes is a chance-phenomenon. It follows that the formation of the body is a chance-phenomenon. The Author of this article believes that the first statement is certainly not right and that probably the second statem ent is not right either.
