Abstract

On montre que le groupe $G$ de présentation $〈 a, b, c, s, t ∣ c = a b = b a, c^{2} = s a s^{- 1} = t b t^{- 1} 〉$ (introduit par D. Wise) a la propriété de décroissance rapide de Haagerup–Jolissaint, et qu’il vérifie donc la conjecture de Baum-Connes.

We show that the group of presentation $〈 a, b, c, s, t ∣ c = a b = b a, c^{2} = s a s^{- 1} = t b t^{- 1} 〉$ (introduced by D. Wise) has the property of rapid decay.
